The architect behind the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is Chandrakant Sompura, assisted by his two sons, Nikhil Sompura and Ashish Sompura. who comes from a family of renowned temple architects. He started working on the mandir about 32 years ago, when he was contacted by then Vishwa Hindu Parishad chief, the late Ashok Singhal.
He measured the area with his feet and designedd the temple in the Nagara style. He and his team of sons, Ashish and Nikhil, supervised the construction and consecration of the temple, which was completed in January 2024.

Ashish Sompura has been involved in the Ram Temple project for 30 years, and he attended the Bhumi Pujan ceremony on August 5, 2020. He has also worked on other temples such as the Swami Narayan Temple in Gandhinagar, the Ambaji Temple in Palanpur, and the Birla Temple in Kolkata.
He follows the traditional style of temple architecture, using solid stone and no steel. He works in collaboration with L&T, the infrastructure company that is responsible for the construction of the Ram Temple. The Ram Temple is expected to be completed in about three and a half years, and it will have an octagonal sanctum sanctorum, one of its unique features1. It will also have a capacity to accommodate 80,000 to 1 lakh devotees and visitors every day.
Somnath Temple: This is one of the most revered temples in India, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located in Prabhas Patan, Gujarat, on the coast of the Arabian Sea. It is believed to be the first among the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva. The temple has been destroyed and rebuilt several times in history, and the current structure was inaugurated by the first President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, in 1951.
The temple was designed by Prabhashankar Sompura, the great-grandfather of Ashish Sompura, who also wrote many books on temple architecture. The temple follows the Nagara style, with a shikhara (spire) rising to a height of 150 feet. The temple complex also has a museum, a library, and a sound and light show.

Akshardham Temple: This is a magnificent temple complex in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, dedicated to Lord Swaminarayan. It was inaugurated by Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the spiritual head of the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS), in 1992. The temple was designed by Chandrakant Sompura, the father of Ashish Sompura, who also designed the Swaminarayan Temple in Mumbai and the Birla Temple in Kolkata.
The temple is made of pink sandstone, and has intricate carvings, sculptures, and paintings depicting the life and teachings of Swaminarayan. The temple complex also has a water show, a garden, a hall of values, and a research center.

Krishna Janmasthan Temple: This is a sacred temple in Mathura, Uttar Praesh, believed to be the birthplace of Lord Krishna. It is situated next to a prison cell, where Krishna’s parents, Vasudeva and Devaki, were imprisoned by the tyrant king Kansa. The temple was built by the followers of the Vallabha sect, who worship Krishna as the supreme deity.
The temple was designed by Ashish Sompura, who also designed the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The temple has a black marble idol of Krishna, and a silver throne for his consort Radha. The temple complex also has a museum, a library, and a cultural center.
